One is 30, the other 27. Shefflin is six foot, Kelly stands two inches shorter. They both weigh 13 stone, 10 pounds.

They were born and brought up less than 30 kilometres apart and both have suffered major injuries – Kelly with a long-running back complaint, Shefflin from a cruciate ligament injury picked up in the 2007 All-Ireland final.
