Bray set to miss Mayo clash as ban upheld
The former All Star was dismissed for an off-the-ball incident in last Saturday’s qualifier win in Portlaoise for an incident involving Limerick defender Mark O’Riordan.
Meath GAA chiefs were adamant that Bray only warranted a second yellow card for the incident, but Armagh referee issued him with a straight red card.
But their appeal was dismissed with the CHC recommending a four-week ban. There is still an avenue for appeal for Bray in the form of the Central Appeals Committee and, if necessary, the Disputes Resolution Authority, but given the time constraints to Sunday’s match, this is regarded as being a highly unlikely option.
Meanwhile, there are still tickets available for tomorrow’s GAA championship triple-header in Croke Park. The Hogan, Cusack and Lower Davin Stands as well as the terrace will all be open to the public, and the GAA Ticket Shop at 53 Lower Dorset Street will be today from 10am to 4pm. Tickets can be bought tomorrow from 10am at the GAA Ticket Shop at 53A Lower Dorset St, the GAA Ticket Shop on the North Circular Road (opposite Gill’s Pub), the GAA Ticket Shop on Drumcondra Road (opposite Fagan’s Pub) and the GAA Ticket Outlet at the junction of Clonliffe Road & Ballybough Road. Ticket prices are €45 for stand with senior citizens with student stand tickets costing €20. Terrace tickets are priced at €30 with juvenile stand tickets costing €5.
