GAA chiefs yesterday announced that there will be no draw to determine the pairings for the All-Ireland SHC semi-finals after Sunday’s quarter-finals.

Regardless of what two teams emerge from the weekend’s hurling ties between Galway and Waterford, and Limerick and Dublin, a semi-final draw is not required due to a motion passed at Special Congress last October.

That motion stated that no provincial final repeat can take place at the All-Ireland semi-final stage and if feasible no repeats of earlier provincial championship games should take place either.
