LIMERICK captain Mark Foley admitted his side were fortunate to win in Wexford Park on Saturday.

He said: “The conditions were something similar in the Waterford game – not exactly a great day for hurling. In fairness I think both teams deserve an awful lot of credit because there was no lack of effort. We were just fortunate to come out with two points to spare.”

If he had one reservation about their display, it was that they didn’t push home their advantage after they got on top after half time – turning an interval deficit of two points into a three-points lead 11 minutes from the end.
