WATERFORD boss Davy Fitzgerald has admitted he still harbours ambitions of managing his native county Clare, but has attacked the attitude and lack of ambition amongst the current Banner squad.

Ahead of Sunday’s Munster final when he will be at the helm for Waterford, Fitzgerald has described the Clare job as something he ‘would like to do at some stage’ but has declared his respect for current Clare manager Mike McNamara who he believes will be in charge for up to two more years.

“Listen, I’d like to do it at some stage. I’ve managed for 20 years. Now believe it or not, I’ve managed every Clare team that has to be done, I’ve done all my club teams that has to be done. I’ve a lot of work put in. I’m still learning. At some stage I’d like to do it.
