Murphy: we’re dreaming of Dungarvan, not Croke Park
A couple of weeks back, he watched the county’s U21 outfit grab All-Ireland honours, adding to the title won in the same grade two years previously. And Murphy, with over a decade of senior service behind him, feels the senior set-up will now reap the rewards as they set off on the Munster championship trail against Waterford on Sunday.
“It was great up in Portlaoise that day. I was at most of the U21 games this year and in fairness they showed their character in the team by fighting until the end. It’s great for Cork football that they won and it all bodes well for the future. A few of them have now been added to our senior panel. The last few years have been good at U21 but that doesn’t naturally fall into place at senior.
