Mulvihill lands GAA medical job

KILDARE team doctor, Dr Danny Mulvihill has been appointed chairman of the GAA’s Medical, Scientific and Welfare committee for the next three years.

Dr Mulvihill has been the Lilywhite team doctor since 1990. A founder member of the Gaelic Games Doctors’ Association, he is in general practice in Kildare Medical Centre with three other partners.

The membership of the committee for the period 2009 to 2012 was also confirmed. It will include renowned Sports Scientist Professor Niall Moyna, former Wexford manger John Conran, ex-footballer and manager Dr Pat O’Neill, Feargal Mc Gill the GAA’s Operations & Player Welfare Manager, former Cavan footballer and chartered physiotherapist Ronan Carolan as well as a host of medical doctors and physiotherapists with a wide range of sports-related specialities.
