DENIS WALSH, the new Cork hurling coach, is confident he has both the management skills to handle the group of players who successfully campaigned to have Gerald McCarthy replaced and the coaching expertise which they complained had been lacking.

Walsh said yesterday that he didn’t regard it as a daunting task to be taking over at this particular time.

“What they see is what they get with me — honesty. That’s it, I can’t give them anything more than that,” he commented.
