SHARING the points in Parnell Park yesterday was of no significance to a Kerry team already assured of its place in the Allianz National Football League final.

The real bonus for Jack O’Connor and his players was avoiding a defeat which looked probable until a late recovery yielded an Aidan O’Mahony goal seven minutes from the final whistle.

Dublin boss Pat Gilroy felt that his side would have won but for “running out of steam” in the last 10 minutes: “It was disappointing to give away the goal, because we defended those high balls very well all day. Still, we were very happy with the way we played.
