Brennan honours stalwarts with awards
The event, in it’s sixth year, pays tribute to the outstanding individuals whose work according to Brennan is “vital to the health and well being of the GAA”.
Speaking last night, Brennan said: “This event is about underlining the extraordinary work that so many people do for the association in so many ways — work that does not always command attention or generate headlines — but is nonetheless vital to the health and well being of the GAA.
“While a number of this year’s award winners have made noteworthy contributions to the association at national level, there is hardly a tier of the GAA that has not been touched by the combined efforts of the people chosen to receive awards this year. As an association it is important that we value fully the voluntary work that we benefit from on a daily basis and we look forward to the dedication of so many committed individuals in the months and years ahead — a commitment and loyalty epitomised by those who feature on our list this year.”
