2008 hurling panel invite clubs to meeting
Last year’s 30 man panel, who refuse to play under manager Gerald McCarthy, contacted national media outlets last night to publicise the talks which they claim ‘will allow the clubs of Cork to decide what is to be done’
The statement read: “The Cork Senior Hurling Panel 2008 wish to cordially invite the chairperson (and one other club member of it’s choosing) of every hurling and/or football club in the county of Cork to meet with us on Sunday evening. The purpose of this meeting, as previously advised in our recent press conference, is to ensure that the GAA clubs of Cork have a chance to obtain first hand information as to the current difficulties so that they can brief their clubs and members accordingly. This will allow the clubs of Cork to decide what is to be done.
“We are issuing this invitation through the press to give as much notice of this meeting as possible. You might please ensure that personal and Club ID are available for inspection. We look forward to seeing you there.”
The meeting is scheduled for the Maryborough House Hotel, Douglas, at 7pm.
