Testing times as drug dilemma looms

THERE ARE different ways of looking at yesterday’s announcement that Kerry’s Aidan O’Mahony ‘failed’ a drug test after last season’s All-Ireland final.

You could view it as the natural conclusion to the continual interfering of the nanny state, blackening some poor innocent for overworking the inhaler.

Or you could leave your libertarian views aside and see it as justice in the hunt for slippery drug cheats, a miscreant finally caught with his hand not in the cookie jar but in the, er, banned-substance bucket.
