McCarthy blasts Seán Óg ‘flip flopping’

CORK hurling manager Gerald McCarthy last night launched an astonishing attack on former All-Ireland winning skipper Seán Óg Ó hAilpín, accusing him of “flip flopping around the place and changing his mind about my abilities as a coach, to suit the agenda of the day”.

On Thursday, Ó hAilpín criticised McCarthy’s coaching style and again insisted that the players would not play under the manager in a row over the procedures used in his reappointment

Those comments last night earned him a stinging rebuke from the Cork legend who said he and the county board have been “tip toeing around a small number of personalities as they tried to turn training and sport into some kind of industrial relations contest of a bygone age”.
