Captaining Muskerry to win the county senior camogie championship title and assuming the role with the county meant that it was a relatively easy choice. Quite simply, she made up her mind that the commitment required for the two teams would be too much.

Not that she has any regrets now, but she never managed to gain a starting place in the football side for the past three years (during which time she won three All-Ireland medals). She wasn’t being given the same opportunities she was getting with the camogie team.
