Loughnane enigma
Loughnane has another year to run on his term, but players and officials are uncertain if the Clare native will remain after their defeat by Cork last week. Canning admits to being in the dark regarding his manager’s plans.
“No we haven’t talked since the Cork game,” he told RTÉ Radio One last night. “It is up to himself at this stage. He has a three-year term, but he said he would go after two if he didn’t win an All-Ireland. Maybe he put himself under a bit of pressure with that. The players here like players everywhere don’t have any say in the situation and we will wait and see what happens over the next few weeks.”
