THE rows of empty seats in Croke Park said everything about the escalating levels of apathy towards the Leinster championship but Eoin Larkin believes the provincial showpiece should stay in Dublin.

Leinster Council secretary Michael Delaney has already admitted that this year’s decider might well have been switched to another venue had the Dublin-Wexford semi-final not gone to a replay and a move may well be made next summer.

“Croke Park is headquarters,” said Larkin, who was named man-of-the-match. “I know supporters don’t want to be travelling to Dublin but it is very important to players to be playing on the best pitch in the country. That’s the bottom line. The players want to play here.”
