Offaly, Mayo back series

Violent scenes in 2006 led to the abandonment of the series, but efforts are now underway to bring it back, and the votes by Mayo and Offaly will be seen as significant boosts to make it happen.

In Mayo, a number of delegates spoke against the return of the series, but the vote showed a majority in favour of another effort being made to marry the two games. County boards all over the country are set to discuss the matter in the coming days.
