Galvin’s Brendan’s ease past Glanmire
The Kerry star, who has joined the backroom staff at the Killarney nursery, will be looking beyond this one-sided affair for an evaluation of the side but there was sufficient sparkle to justify the air of confidence sweeping throughout the camp.
It took less than 30 seconds for Cian Tobin to put Glanmire on the back foot with a text book point from the right wing.
Then James O’Donoghue banged home a well taken goal three minutes later and the writing was on the wall for the Cork lads.
St Brendan’s led 1-7 to no score at half time and they were 13 points clear before Conor Murphy opened Glanmire’s account with a point from a free in the 44th minute. A minute later Glanmire centre-forward, Cillian Brosnan laid the ball off to Stephen Crowley and he blasted the net.
In the final quarter St Brendan’s introduced a number of substitutes and Shane O’Neill controlled the ball with his leg before hammering it to the net for their second goal before Philip O’Connor wrapped it up with another late goal.
