Kerry-Dubs clash TV winner as 876,000 armchair fans tune in
The game attracted an audience peak of 876,000 — the equivalent of 82% of the available audience on Sunday afternoon.
An average of 644,000 people watched the game on The Sunday Game Live, resulting in an average share of 69.3%.
Later that evening, RTÉ’s The Sunday Game highlights programme attracted the record audience for this season with an average of 307,000 viewers watching the evening programme.
A peak audience of 408,000 tuned in as Pat Spillane was joined by Dublin legend Paul Curran, former Kerry captain Dara Ó Cinnéide and Cork football All-star Tony Davis for reviews and expert analysis of all the action.
Paul Byrnes, RTÉ’s GAA executive editor said: “This weekend’s figures further strengthen an already fantastic season for The Sunday Game with audiences increasing year on year. We continue to bring GAA fans top quality coverage ensuring everyone can enjoy all the drama and excitement of the championships, and this weekend will no doubt prove to be another hugely exciting draw for viewers.”
