Meyler upbeat despite defeat

THE three defeats to Kilkenny — by a combined total of 40 points — may frame their season but John Meyler was adamant after yesterday’s defeat that the overall picture is a positive one for Wexford hurling.

Management and players will sit down together over the next seven days to dissect the 2007 season and plan for 2008, and their manager is adamant that solid foundations have been laid.

“We need to learn from today,” said Meyler. “There will be no sniping at one another. At least Wexford competed this year. It’s been a very good year and I see it as a successful year.”
