Waterford’s hunger to give them edge

WE are becoming so accustomed to Cork and Waterford hurlers providing such fabulous entertainment in the All-Ireland championship that the public may feel cheated if they don’t turn on the style in tomorrow’s replay in Croke Park.

However, for all that we can expect from two teams that have such a high level of skill and are so attack-minded, this will be about grinding out a result and it may not necessarily be a pretty contest.

Cork, understandably, were furious about the decision of referee Brian Gavin to penalise Donal Óg Cusack and award the injury-time free from which Eoin Kelly earned the Decies a dramatic reprieve.
