Hard to see Wexford stop this super hurling machine

A SIMPLE lesson in sports psychology: a team that goes into a game hoping to give a good account of itself is beaten before they start.
Hard to see Wexford stop this super hurling machine

No matter the circumstances, no matter the odds, you take the field believing you’re going to win, or you take the field to fail.

Do Wexford go to Croke Park tomorrow to give a good account, or to win? Even going with the intent of repeating their performance in last Saturday’s quarter-final win over Tipperary won’t be enough, impressive as that was, following their capitulation to Kilkenny in the Leinster final on July 1. Kilkenny are not Tipperary. They won’t be conceding the kind of sloppy goal chances we saw squandered by Wexford last Saturday, while their forwards are — let’s say — just a little more potent.
