Galway showdown will be tough battle, says Cody

ANYONE following the controversy generated by Ger Loughnane’s biting criticism of Kilkenny will have noticed that Brian Cody has not risen to the bait.

And while the Galway manager’s specific comments on aspects of their play are viewed as impugning the reputation of the All-Ireland champions and their players, Cody has no intention of challenging them. Certainly, Cody has views, but it wouldn’t be his style to be drawn into a public slagging match.

However, in a roundabout way he did address another comment attributed to Loughnane — to the effect that Kilkenny would not relish taking on his team.
