PARACHUTING Galway into the Leinster Championship is not the answer to hurling problems in the region, according to provincial council chairman Liam O’Neill.

Dublin’s win over Kilkenny in yesterday’s Leinster minor final was further proof of stirrings at underage level and the Laois native is eager for GAA officials to continue working towards a long-term perspective.

“We are working hard to build Leinster hurling from the ground up and we know that it will take some time,” said O’Neill yesterday. “Some observers think that parachuting Galway into Leinster will solve all our problems.
