THE death has occurred of former Cork hurling goalkeeper Dave Creedon, holder of three All-Ireland medals and dual championship winner with Glen Rovers and St Nicholas.

Aged 87, he played on the successful Cork three-in-a-row team of 1952-54 after he had retired from club hurling following the 1951 county final defeat to Sarsfields.

A winner of county minor hurling medals in 1933 and 1934, he won a total of nine senior hurling championship medals with Glen Rovers, (three as reserve), being associated with the team which won eight titles in a row between 1934 and 1941 (when he was the captain).
