Hungry Kilworth favoured to dispose of Cloughduv challenge
Kilworth have been waiting for this game for a number of weeks and, while they won’t be exactly ring-rusty, they will be lacking in match practice.
The North Cork champions lost the county final to Blarney in 1993 and to Fr O’Neills last year and have their heart set on getting back to the final and making amends. Will Twomey, Damien McNamara, county minor Adrian Mannix, Aidan Kenny and the vastly experienced John Hegarty will spearhead their challenge.
The new Mid-Cork champions were very impressive in their victory over Ballinora and a repeat of that form could upset the odds.
Donal Corkery, Gerry Shanahan, team captain Tom O’Mahony and long-serving Tim Barry-Murphy who now mans the goalkeeping position, will make it very hard for Kilworth.
Verdict: A Kilworth win.
