Tyrrell puts triumph in perspective

In his victory speech on Sunday, he singled out the young Kilkenny boy fighting serious illness — who has been adopted by the team — for special mention.

“Jason (Brennan) has been part of our set-up for a while. I couldn’t let the occasion go without mentioning him. He has his own jersey, with 34 on the back of it. He comes in after training and after every match. He is fighting a different battle and to see the way he fights it really drove us on more. He has been an inspiration for us.’’
