The corner-forward was stretchered off in injury-time in Sunday’s Ulster SFC semi-final win over Derry after a collision with Paul Cartan.

However, Doherty is still “extremely sore” and he is receiving treatment at Letterkenny General Hospital.

Doherty scored Donegal’s goal in the 1-13 to 0-11 victory at Clones. The Four Masters clubman put in a superb display and added four points to his goal to end the game as top scorer.

Donegal will play the winners of next week’s replay between Armagh and Fermanagh in the final.
