A MONTH may have elapsed since the first formal meeting between the GAA and the Gaelic Players Association, but president Nickey Brennan yesterday offered the reassurance that they have been active ‘in the background’ in the interim period.

Responding to reports that the GPA ‘expect progress’ from the next round of negotiations (June 13), he expressed hope there would be movement on the issues being debated.

“We said we would come back with a date for the next meeting as soon as we could. We have been up to our tonsils with various things and it’s the middle of the championship as well,” he explained.
