All set for another Féile hurling festival

THE Féile na nGael festival of hurling is ready to roll again in Cork this year - it was on Leeside last season as part of the Capital of Culture year - with teams from all 32 counties as well as London and Warwickshire taking part.

Sixty two teams from Cork and another 62 from the length and breadth of the country battle it out for the ultimate prize in underage hurling in six different divisions, in this the biggest hurling festival in the country.

The tournament begins on Friday, June 16 at various Cork venues, culminating in final dates at Páirc Ui Chaoimh and Páirc Uí Rinn on Sunday, June 18.

Ballyboden/St Endas from Dublin defend their premier title but face stiff opposition this year from Na Piarsaigh, Cork, Ballygunner from Waterford, Shelmaliers (Wexford), Dúrlas Óg from Tipperary as well as Kilkenny, all traditional hurling strongholds.
