Murphy: Clare/Cats replay is Déise gain

WATERFORD may benefit most from the drawn All-Ireland SHC quarter-final between Clare and Kilkenny, according to Wexford selector Dickie Murphy.

The winners of Saturday’s replay will be in action eight days later against the Munster SHC champions in an All-Ireland semi-final. And the physical exertions of championship hurling on three successive weekends could take its toll, according to the Model county selector.

“I suspect it is Waterford who will be happiest about the draw,” Murphy admitted yesterday.
