Vindicated Kerins hails battling qualities

IN a strangely subdued Galway dressing room Alan Kerins stood alone, savouring a victory that for so long seemed an impossible ambition.

“Our character had been questioned in the last three or four years, but today we showed we had the heart for the battle,” said the Clarenbridge wing-forward.

“It’s hard to put into words how I feel right now, but isn’t that what hurling is all about. One minute you think you have lost then, in another minute the victory is yours. Unbelievable is all I can say.
