The stalwart corner-back damaged shoulder ligaments in a recent county SFC match and has received intensive treatment since.

County selector John Allen said that it was a bit early to say Sherlock would be fit to line out against Limerick.

“He did some light training last week but no physical contact.

“This week Wayne hopes to take part a bit more physically but we’ll be taking no chances. He would be a very important part of our plans for the Munster semi-final.”

DJ CAREY made a welcome return to the game over the weekend lining out with his club Gowran in a county SHL game against Graigue Ballycallan.
