Moynihan will have final role
Out of action since suffering an ankle injury in a club game on June 20, he has made significant progress since the semi-final win over Derry, to the delight of manager Jack O’Connor.
“I know he has made a monumental effort to get himself right. At times he could not see any light at the end of the tunnel, but seeing him working alone with the weights and aqua jogging, I felt if there was any justice he will play a part in the final,” he commented.
O’Connor is very sympathetic to the plight of Darragh Ó Sé, whose slim chances of being able to play were ended after he had a pin inserted in his right foot.
Meanwhile, O’Connor revealed that at the time of his appointment he had been a ‘bit wary’ of taking over after the controversy which developed over the replacement of Páidí Ó Sé.
“I would have preferred it was more clear-cut. But you don’t get asked too often in this county to train the team.”
