Tralee awarded points

TRALEE CBS have been awarded the two points from their game with Intermediate School Killorglin after the latter failed to turn up for the match.

Munster Colleges decided at their meeting on Tuesday night to award the Green the points after ISK had refused to play the Tralee side in Connolly Park.

ISK had objected to the ground arguing that it was a home venue for Tralee, and refused to travel.

The awarding of the points to Tralee CBS means they now top their group with three points with Coláiste Choilm runners up on two, and ISK out of contention.

Killorglin have the right of appeal to the All-Ireland Colleges Council.

The Council also decided at its meeting on the format for the draws for the quarter-finals of the Harty Cup and Corn Uí Mhuirí in early January. The winner of each section will drawn against a runner-up but cannot meet a team it has already played in the Round Robin series. If the teams finish on level points in the Harty Cup, scoring averages will decide who goes forward to the concluding stages.
