Ó hAilpín’s debut on hold
The former Cork hurling star, who last week was promoted from the rookie list at Carlton Blues, is out for five weeks after suffering a stress fracture of his foot while playing with the club’s VFL affiliate, the Northern Bullants.
“Maybe his body, not playing a game as demanding as AFL football, maybe that had something to do with it. Who knows,” Blues coach Denis Pagan said yesterday
“It’s a bit of a shame because he was knocking on the door.”
Ó hAilpín will wear a ‘camwalker’ boot for the next three weeks. The rigid ankle foot orthosis is commonly used at the club when immobilisation of the foot and ankle is required.
