Teams being tweaked for next round of SFC games

CLARE have made two changes from the side that lost to Limerick in last weekend's Munster championship semi final for tomorrow's All-Ireland SFC qualifier with Offaly at Cusack Park.

Wing back Darragh Blake and wing forward Alan Malone have been left on the bench and they will be replaced by Noel Griffen and Denis O'Driscoll.

The 22-years old Griffen, a member of the Kilrush Shamrock's club, came on as a sub against Limerick to make his senior championship debut, while O'Driscoll, who was also introduced in that game has been around the block for quite a while now.

Roscommon have been forced to make one change from the side that defeated Cork for their All-Ireland qualifier with Connacht neighbours Leitrim at Carrick-on-Shannon tomorrow.

Right corner back John Nolan, who sustained a knee injury during the course of the Cork game, has been ruled out and his place will now be taken by Roy Cox, brother of right half forward Dave.

Following their defeat by Tyrone in last weekend's Ulster semi final the Antrim selectors have dropped centre back John McKeever and right corner forward Peter McCann for tomorrow's All-Ireland qualifier with reiging champions Armagh at Casement Park.

McKeever's pivotal berth has now been allocated to Rory O'Loan, while Conal Kelly takes over from McCann in attack.

Carlow have deferred selection of their team to play Tipperary in their All-Ireland qualifier at Thurles tomorrow until after training tonight.

Five members of the Carlow team full back Brian Farrell, wing backs Stephen O'Brien and Willie Power and forwards John Nevin and Simon Rea are all undergoing treatment for injuries at present.

Meath, who travel to Clones to play Monaghan in their All-Ireland qualifier tomorrow have also delayed selection of their side until tonight but it is expected that Nigel Crawford will be included in the line-out. The influential midfielder came on as a sub against Laois last weekend and is likely to start on this occasion.

Limerick are poised to ‘cash in’ on their first Munster senior football final appearance in 12 years.

They have organised a corporate lunch in Killarney on July 13, the day they come face to face with Kerry, at Fitzgerald Stadium.

Tim O’Brien, one of the organisers of the event, said that last time they held such a function on the eve of a big hurling game in Cork, they harvested a profit of £25,000.

The Ennis Road venue is set to reopen in mid July, having been closed for 14 months.
