Vodafone have launched their Vodafone Live! technology which allows Irish customers to access video streaming from the Premiership, along with downloading, mobile TV, video calling and 3D games.
And the phone giants, who sponsor the Allstars, are considering using the technology domestically.
“We will be looking at GAA,” a Vodafone spokesperson confirmed yesterday.
“We have a wonderful relationship with the Association and we are already providing scorelines on our WAP services.
“It is something we are interested in and we are keen to build up the Irish package to accompany the international feed. But that is something that is to be developed.”
The newly-launched service will mean Irish football fans can watch all the Premiership goals up to 25 minutes after full-time, hours before the TV shows.
In addition, Vodafone Live! customers in Ireland will be able to access extensive video previews of every game along with archives and reviews.
The goals will be contained in a two-minute downloadable/streamed clip that customers will view through Match Centre on Vodafone Live! at approximately 5.15pm or 15 to 20 minutes after full-time, delivering the best match action to customers.
These services are part of a three-season deal that Vodafone Ireland and 3 Ireland have jointly secured from The FA Premier League. Martin Wells, head of Content Services, Vodafone Ireland said: “This will be the first range of new content services available via Vodafone Live! over 3G. Sport is hugely important to our customers and the addition of these services will greatly enhance our already comprehensive sports coverage over Vodafone Live!”
