A long, long way for Clare to cheer

IT’S a measure of Clare footballers’ recent problems that a league win over London last month stands as the pinnacle of their season.

Two defeats to New York during their training week in the Catskill Mountains a few short weeks later suggested that their season’s hopes were quickly disappearing down the drain.

Yet, for all that, manager John Kennedy has targeted a Munster final appearance and, to do that, Waterford on Sunday and then Cork will have to be dealt with.
