Mouthwatering third round tie as Tyrone and Galway meet again

THE meeting of All-Ireland champions Tyrone and Galway is the mouthwatering clash served up by the draw drum for the third round of the Bank of Ireland SFC Qualifiers.

Mickey Harte’s side and the 2001 champions have already produced two of the most thrilling games of the season, albeit at League stage.

The sides finished with 1-16 apiece in their first meeting in the Allianz NFL semi-final. The Salthill replay was even more exciting than the Omagh tie with Galway winning by four points, (2-18 to 1-19) after extra time. The Tribesmen were subsequently pipped by Kerry in the NFL decider at Croke Park. “It is a very difficult draw,” Galway manager John O’Mahony said last night. “Tyrone looked to be back razor-harp again against Down on Saturday night.
