Stars join young footballers for team event

THREE of Ireland’s brightest sporting stars - Damien Duff, Brian O’Driscoll and Seán Óg Ó hAilpín - came face to face for the first time yesterday at the adidas +10 Event in London.

O’Driscoll and Seán Óg joined a team captained by Duff, and six young Irish footballers to compete in the adidas team event, against teams headed up by 11 England players, including David Beckham, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Ashley Cole, plus a French and Dutch team.

“I kind of feel like the eighth kid on the team,” said O’Driscoll, “It’s a big deal to have all these players here in the one place, and being on a team with Duffer and Seán Óg, well it doesn’t happen every day.”
