GAA president Sean Kelly believes some inter-county managers are now paranoid about dealing with the media, and has pledged to speak with them “as things have gone backward instead of forward”.

Mr Kelly expressed his disappointment, to The Kingdom newspaper yesterday, at press arrangements prior to big match occasions, with players discouraged from being open.

"There is a little bit too much guarding of players, too much suspicion they will let something out of the bag. The majority are very intelligent, they can handle themselves fine. Team management are being paranoid and discouraging players from being open.
