McCarthy may miss Waterford clash
The Castlelyons man sustained a badly torn hamstring in Sunday’s NHL tie against Tipperary.
“He certainly won’t play any more league games even if we were to make to the final,” said coach John Allen. “It will be at least four weeks before we have a better idea of how his recovery is progressing. It’s too early to say if he’ll miss the championship game, it will be touch and go. It’s a tough blow for a player who was shaping up well this year. He took a lot of unnecessary stick during the 2004 campaign, but has bounced back a stronger player.”
