Bitterness not going to get Carter

IT'S only a couple of years since Charlie Carter was playing a starring role for Kilkenny.

Captain of the side in 2003, he came on as a late sub in the National League final, scored two goals in a minute to help Kilkenny overturn an eight-point deficit in the last 20 minutes to pip Tipperary in a memorable decider.

Shortly afterwards he was gone, having walked away after a difference of opinion with manager Brian Cody, and never came back.
