GAA’s unsung heroes get just reward

GAA president Sean Kelly has unveiled plans for an innovative new awards scheme designed to reward work done at grassroots level in the association.

Mr Kelly’s own ‘President’s Awards’ will be presented at a gala function in Croke Park next month to a number of unsung heroes in the GAA.

Croke Park’s Social and Awards Work Group chairman Jim Forbes said that the scheme, the first of its kind in Ireland, is designed to honour and give recognition to those who give their time voluntarily for the betterment of the GAA and sportsmanship.
