Harty Cup holders face group of death

North Mon, who have amalgamated with their Gael Colaiste, will play defending champions St. Flannan's in the opening game in Group A. St Colmans are in the same group, which is going to make qualification for the knock out stages very difficult.

Group B throws up an interesting clash between Waterford rivals DLS and Colaiste na Deise.

For the First time in their history Carrigaline Community School will compete in the Harty Cup and they are paired with Thurles CBS, Presentation (Ballingarry) and St. Caimins (Shannon) in Group C.

Charleville CBS and Nenagh CBS are back in action after a couple of years absence along with newcomers Colaiste an Risigh and St. Caimins (both from Clare), but Douglas CS, Doon CBS, Shannon Schools, St. Josephs Borrisoleigh and Farranferris have dropped down a grade.

In football, there is an increase of four teams for next year, Castletroy Community School, Colaiste Choilm (Ballincollig), Shannon Schools and DLS Macroom have come in, but Douglas CS and Pobal Scoil Glanmire have dropped out.

Defending champions Spioraid Naoimh have been grouped with Dingle CBS, Limerick Colleges as well as Shannon Colleges and they will meet the Kerry college in the opening match in group B.

Defeated finalists St. Brendans are in Group D with Colaiste Chriost Ri and Colaiste Choilm.
