Croker pitch report due in December

A DETAILED report on the controversial playing surface at Croke Park will be released in December after a group of experts examined the pitch recently.

Since the €4 million pitch was laid before last year's championships, it has drawn criticism from players and managers for being too hard and slippery. The report is eagerly awaited with Croke Park officials fearing that the high-tech pitch may have to be dug up again, at huge expense.

In a recent interview, GAA president Sean Kelly promised a comprehensive review once the playing season was over.
