Kerry and Clare injury-free ahead of championship meeting

KERRY have no injury concerns ahead of their Munster SFC opener against Clare on Sunday (Cusack Park, Ennis, 3.30pm).

Clare also report a clean bill of health. Defender Phillip Smith looks to have overcome a minor leg injury and is set for selection on John Kennedy’s side.

There is concern in the Roscommon camp regarding the fitness of Ray Cox and Paul Noone ahead of Sunday’s Connacht SFC clash with Sligo.

Cox has a groin injury while Noone has a back problem. Roscommon are already without wing-back Morgan Beirne, who is due to undergo a shoulder operation and will miss the entire season.

Sligo are injury free.

Joe Sheridan is out of the Meath team for Sunday’s Leinster SFC game against Wicklow. The UCD student is suspended following an altercation with the referee in the U21 championship game with Kildare.

Royals’ boss Sean Boylan is concerned about the fitness of Nigel Crawford and Hank Traynor.

Crawford tore a stomach muscle in the NFL game against Laois and hasn’t played since, while Traynor injured a hamstring in the same tie.
