The talk of the nation for the past week was the decision of the Cork County Board not to allow any discussion, much less a vote, at last week’s meeting, on the controversial issue of Rule 42.

It was not the proper forum, stated the top brass of the board, waiting until the last minute to cite rules and regulations of which those clubs who wished to have a debate were unaware, rules that might otherwise have been circumvented legitimately.
