Shefflin dismisses rumours of a move to Blackrock

KILKENNY scoring ace Henry Shefflin has no intention of joining Cork club Blackrock.

In America with the Vodafone GAA Allstars, he dismissed rumours of a move to Blackrock, which has a strong connection with Kilkenny over the years. “I have got a good few phone calls on it. There’s no truth whatsoever in it. I’m from a proud club, Ballyhale Shamrocks. I grew up there and I’ll always be there,” he stated emphatically yesterday.

He suspects that the speculation arose from the possibility of him working in the Cork area and coming to live there. “Lads said something among themselves and one thing led to another,” he added. “Rumours started and they just spiralled out of control.
